Notice of USPS Sailing Class

Attention IBYC Members

The United States Power Squadrons, Lincoln Land Squadron is offering a classroom series on SAIL. This class covers a wide range of subjects such as sailboat rigs, sail plans, hull types, standing rigging, wind, sailing upwind, sailing downwind, docking, anchoring, marlinespike seamanship, navigation rules, etc. The classroom series will be augmented by occasional on the water experience. The instructor is Bob Wire, the first class will be held Wednesday, June 17, 2009 at 7:30 P.M. at Island Bay Yacht Club. The class is open to non-members of USPS including IBYC members. The only cost is the student text and workbook. Completion of this class is recognized by most Yacht Charter Companies and will help you qualify for a bare boat charter experience.
